Faith exists? Prove it.

One of the biggest problems in our world today is the fact that everything has to be proven. One of the most know phrases that small children say is "Prove it". It seems that sometime in our young lives we become suspicious of everything.
"You aren't going to Disneyworld!"
"Yes I am!"
"Prove it!"
I think that people need to realize that not everything in this world can be explained. Somethings are just...well, sometimes, you just have to have faith. One of the people that you can look up to in this respect is a young girl. Here is her story.
As she was preparing dinner for her father and mother, a young girl had a vision. It was a spectacular vision, filled with bright light, yet it did not hurt her eyes. Instead, she found herself peering into the light, trying to see what could be behind it. Suddenly, she heard a voice. She shrank into the shadows, afraid.
"Do not be afraid," the voice said.
The girl looked into the light once again, amazed.
"Your God is pleased with you, for you have tried to please him in all of your ways."
The girl, about age 15, looked on in wonder, and the voice continued, "Behold! You will conceive and bear a son, and you shall call him Emmanuel, and he shall be the savior of all nations."
The girl, silent until this point, was utterly astounded, and asked "How can this happen, since I am a virgin?"
The light responded, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of God will overshadow you, and you shall conceive the savior of all nations."
In response, the young virgin said "Let all of this happen to me, as you have said."
She had faith. Who knew what was to happen?
The vision had also told the young girl that her cousin, of a particularly old age, was pregnant. The girl left immediately to go and see her.
Another example of faith. The journey must have been long and hard, and to make it because a vision had told her to...what if it was just a day dream?
Once there, the girl found everything the vision had said, and helped her cousin deliver her baby. When it was time for her to return, the girl was showing obvious signs of being pregnant. She had no idea how her parents would receive this news, or for that matter, the entire community. They might banish her forever. Still, she had faith that everything would work out.
Once back at home, the girl faced distain from her parents, and even her fiance. However, once she told them her vision, they (amazingly) believed her. They had faith that she was telling the truth.
If you haven't figured it out, the young girl was Mary, and the vision was the angel Gabriel. You probably know the rest of the story.
Mary's entire life was based on faith. She is one of the most well-known women of history. Take the incentive. Learn from her.

Brilliant. I couldn't have said it better. And to think how many girls are in that same situation nowadays... I wish you could have been at youth group tonight. It was amazing... intense... but amazing.

PS- do you think I'm too energetic? Or get hyper too easily? I sometimes wonder what people thing of me, especially if they don't know me very well...

Well Rach, I'm not doing youth group anymore. My dad says it wasn't doing anything for my formation, and I kind of agree with him. It was more of a "Feel Good" thing for me. Anyways, my mom is already counting down, and says that she feels like she only has 2 years left with me, and Sunday nights are the only night the entire family is together.

Hyper? Energetic? Rach, you are very outgoing and energetic, and when it comes to LOTR ROTK you may get just a little too hyper ;), but that's what I LOVE about you! Who else is like you? Everyone else that I know is pretty mellow and not very hyper, (I know that's repetition) How am I supposed to get my energy fix without you??? So no, you aren't too hyper or energetic. Sheesh. (No matter how cheesy this sounds...) You are my friend because you are Rachel, not some other really mellow not hyper always calm in a situation girl. I mean, come on, how many on those friends can you have?
